The Christmas season was upon us, the shows that my wife and I PVR had run dry, and I, having made a commitment to take a few days off and do nothing (a task that for an ADHD personality like myself is more difficult that it sounds), found myself for the first time that I can remember in a long time - bored.
This is how it came to be that, more than 5 years after the show was taken off the air, I proceeded to devour 3 straight seasons of the hit show "24" on Netflix.
After a few days I emerged, blurry eyed and battle worn, and realized that it was time to get back to work.
I jumped in the car and heard the first advertising I'd been exposed to in days - on the radio.
This type of TV watching is becoming more and more common. According to
this article released on December 19 in The Globe and Mail, nearly 50% of all Americans are watching television through web streaming services like Netflix, and of these, 61% report to binge-watching entire television series like this on a regular basis. 79% say they prefer it to regular TV watching.
