Radio Advertising vs. Television - The Battle For Advertising Supremecy

 
The Christmas season was upon us, the shows that my wife and I PVR had run dry, and I, having made a commitment to take a few days off and do nothing (a task that for an ADHD personality like myself is more difficult that it sounds), found myself for the first time that I can remember in a long time - bored.
 
This is how it came to be that, more than 5 years after the show was taken off the air, I proceeded to devour 3 straight seasons of the hit show "24" on Netflix.
 
After a few days I emerged, blurry eyed and battle worn, and realized that it was time to get back to work.
 
I jumped in the car and heard the first advertising I'd been exposed to in days - on the radio.
 
This type of TV watching is becoming more and more common. According to this article released on December 19 in The Globe and Mail, nearly 50% of all Americans are watching television through web streaming services like Netflix, and of these, 61% report to binge-watching entire television series like this on a regular basis. 79% say they prefer it to regular TV watching.

Can you believe an entire month has already blown by in 2014?

 
Has your year started out as profitable as you had expected? So often we begin the year with renewed energy and excitement for all that we're going to accomplish over the next 12 months. Then we get to work and begin to settle into old and familiar routines.

Best Selling author and business coach, Brian Tracy describes a marketing principle know as the "Parthenon Theory"
 
The theory goes that if your business is like the stone roof of the Greek Parthenon, the pillars that hold your business up is your marketing. Each pillar is only capable of holding so much weight, which means that in order for your business to grow beyond a certain level you MUST add additional marketing tools to your Parthenon.
 
How do you know which pillars are right for your business?
 
Well for starters, you must identify your target market, and find out where your target market hangs out. Then you can begin to target your advertising through mediums that will reach that audience.
 
If, for example, your target market is women between the ages of 25 and 55, then 88.9 Shine FM is would be an EXCELLENT candidate for your marketing efforts.
